om 39 years old originally from Worksop now live in Doncaster.

From a young age, I always knew I loved to sing. When my parents bought me my first karaoke machine, I was hardly ever off it! It was the beginning of something that would stay with me throughout my life.

My first experience of performing came at primary school, when I took part in a production of Bugsy Malone. I then discovered competitive singing in Year 8, entering my first school singing competition with DJ Ötzi’s “Hey Baby”, where I was thrilled to finish third.

The following year, I had my first taste of acting when I took part in my school’s production of Grease, playing one of the T-Birds. Performing on stage gave me a real buzz, but after leaving school, I stepped away from singing for a while.

It wasn’t until I started going out to karaoke nights that I truly rediscovered my love for performing. Friends and people around me would often say, “You should enter a competition.” At first, I was nervous and didn’t have the confidence to put myself out there.

Eventually, though, I decided to take that leap.

I entered my first competition and, to my surprise, made it all the way to the quarter-finals. That moment changed something in me. I started thinking, “Actually, maybe I can do this.”

I entered another competition and once again made it through to the final. Each experience gave me more confidence and made me believe that perhaps singing could become something more than just a hobby.

Over the years, I’ve often been told, “Why don’t you do this as a job?” But I’ve never quite taken that final step to push myself to the next level.

Entering Undiscovered Talent UK changed that.

Being part of the competition has pushed me outside my comfort zone, encouraged me to try new songs and, most importantly, made me want to continue pursuing my dream. It has given me the confidence to believe that this could be the beginning of something much bigger.

I’m now regularly posting videos on TikTok through @tommipmusic, and I’m looking forward to sharing more live performances there too. I’m also on YouTube as Thomas Pywell and Facebook as Tom Pywell Male Vocalist.

I’ve also had the opportunity to take part in numerous recording studio sessions, recording covers — something I’ve absolutely loved. My next ambition is to take another big step and release my own original single.

My time on Undiscovered Talent UK has been an incredible experience. I’m so grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself, discover more about my voice and build the confidence to believe in myself.

Thank you for helping me realise that I can achieve more with my singing.

I’m excited to continue this journey, keep pushing myself and see where music can take me next.

This is only the beginning…
